~For My Mamma Sally 1909-1996~

My maternal grandmother Sally was born and raised in southern Kentucky in the early 1900s: a warm and loving woman, a mother figure to many and loved by all who knew her. She was an inspiration to me, and I want to share all that she taught me with you. I’m happiest when I’m cooking - it’s my connection to her and brings back of all the wonderful memories from her little shotgun house, where I learned everything that I know about food. I am excited to share more than 300 years of recipes that have been developed and passed down through many generations of my family. Every generation adds something to the book, and I am excited to share what I’ve added to the traditions Mamma Sally shared with me.
